Higher ground: the power of making contact with the earth

We could all do with being a bit more down to earth. Modern lives have created a positive charge within us that upsets our natural state of equilibrium. It has a lot to answer for. By reconnecting with the negative charge of the ground beneath our feet, balance can begin to be restored.



Grounding, also known as earthing, is often referred to in relation to inflammation. Some theorists suggest that the electrical charge within our nervous system can cause health problems and by addressing this everything from pain to insomnia can be improved. 


To practice grounding you simply have to make contact with the earth. Be that through lying on it, walking barefoot over it, or placing your hand on to the soil. The more time you can spend reconnecting with the natural world, the more nourishing it will be.
